BRIEF STORY
ABOUT THE
OVERSEER’S HOUSE AT THE PLANTATION
In the 1960’s Schoolboy
Cleve's mother Mrs. Susie (Martin) White Born 1894 lived there. As descendents
of the Slaves the real story is yet to be told on how this remarkable
lady raised 9 children without an education but with the grace of God!
Please, make a reservation to see the remarkable plantation.
Magnolia Mounds Overseer’s
House is a double-sided house, original to the plantation c. 1870. It
was found a few blocks away and moved back to the plantation proper. The
house is furnished as if the overseer and his family are still living
there and includes an early 19th century sick room. Overseer’s House,
original to Magnolia Mound, was found in the surrounding residential area
and moved to its present site.
